DIFOS
Solar Photometer
Institutes:
Institute of Terrestrial Magnetism, Ionosphere and Radio Wave Propagation (IZMIRAN)
Principal Investigators:
Prof. V.N.Oraevsky
Scientific goals
The DIFOS photometer was designed to study global solar oscillations
Technical parameters
- Continuous registration of the light flux intensity from the whole Solar disk in three optical spectral channels:
- 550 nm with bandpass of 100 nm
- 750 nm with bandpass of 100 nm (formed by glass optic filters)
- 400 nm - 1100 nm (defined by spectral characteristics of silicon photosensor)
- Relative light flux resolusion - 2*10-5 Io for 16 seconds of signal integrating during measuring cycle
- Output data in 16-bit binary code
- Thermostating of photosensors
- Pointing to the Sun within the accuracy of 10 arc. minutes
supported by orientation system of the satellite
- Power consumption - 20 W
